Just out of interest here is a list the most popular CDs for sale on DPS
1. Craighall Demos 2. Fellowman 3. The Search 4. David Paton and Friends 5. Studio Diary 6. Blue Yonder 7. Orange Groove 8. Fragments 9. Songs of our Lives 10. Famous Faces
"Fragments" was originally sold by KRL and I know they sold a lot of them so the true sales will be a lot higher than indicated.
I'll soon have some new mp3s and can now start writing more songs for myself.
New on the Flavours facebook site is a 20 minute video of our trip to France in May this year.

New in the mp3s this week is my daughter Sara singing "Don't touch me". We recorded this last month and I've been waiting for her permission to put it up. Sara doesn't have much studio experience but she's done really well here. I've also added a new demo from me. It's called "I'm no liar". Not much to say about this one, I'm still working on it. I have decided to close the studio for the rest of the year. It's time I became a little more self indulgent and spent more time writing for myself. I just hope I didn't leave my songwriting hat in France. MP3 clips for this month include 3 from the new Studio Diary CD and my original demo for "You" from "Fellow man". I usually sit at the keyboard or with a guitar. In this case I have a drum loop going on the computer while I'm playing a keyboard. I record what I'm doing live and rough, so you really are hearing me experimenting, doodling I suppose and songwriting can be a bit like doodling sometimes. It's interesting listening to how it devolops. The chords are different here and there is a hint of "Like a Flame" (The Studio Diary) so I suppose this is where I got the idea for that song. |

The other two demos are just songs I never got round to finishing properly. "Don't Touch Me" is a new song from the Flavours. This is the first song to emerge from our trip to France last month. 3 songs were written within the week and we will post them all here. Give us as much feedback as you can, good or bad. Thanks.
Ric and I have penned another tune "Gift of Love" and this time it is sung by the amazing Amanda Lyon. I've worked with Amanda on many sessions and gigs and I'm a big fan. It was a pleasure to have her sing for us. Have a listen to the mp3.
Just to remind you that RPM Records (www.rpmrecords.co.uk) Cherry Red Records ltd group of labels have licensed the 3 EMI Pilot albums for reissue. They were released on July 27th 2009. I have added sleeve notes and a few interesting bonus tracks.
Song number 6 on the CD "The Studio Diary" is "Creepin'" Written by Ric Thomson and to be included on his solo CD under the name of Ricky Shade, to be released by Christmas.
Creepin' Check out the trim that just walked in, cheesin' at me with a grin lookin' like she'd give you love without the pain But I know from experience, a treble six looks like heaven Leaving you with the sting that takes time to erase I saw you creepin', movin' in on me, checkin' out my cuts and the ice around my neck I saw you creepin', homin' in on me, checkin' out my cuts and the ice around my neck I got the 411 on ya from your chikita in the corner who juiced about your secrets and your sins yeah she says your just a player, that I'm better off with her so it looks like I'm in trouble once again I saw you creepin', movin' in on me, checkin' out my cuts and the ice around my neck I saw you creepin', homin' in on me, checkin' out my cuts and the ice around my neck you look a little dangerous , you look a little dangerous Well my mind smacked off the floor brain drew a blank went 404 how could she bitch like that about her closest friend then it hit me like a fix, those two bad kitties up to tricks and it looks like I'm in trouble once again I saw you creepin', movin' in on me, checkin' out my cuts and the ice around my neck I saw you creepin', homin' in on me, checkin' out my cuts and the ice around my neck you look a little dangerous , you look a little dangerous you look a little dangerous , you look a little dangerous Dangerous, Dangerous. you look a little dangerous, you look a little dangerous you look a little dangerous, you look a little dangerous
